Reasons to visit Disneyland® Paris

We were lucky enough to join a large group of travel agents and tour operators on a tour of Disneyland® Paris, to celebrate the park’s 25th Birthday. There are so many reasons to visit Disneyland Paris that we thought it was time for our very first list!

1. Star Wars has come to Disneyland

Space Mountain is now Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, complete Star Wars soundtrack and visuals. Star Tours 3D now has 70 different Star Wars mission combinations.

Storm Troopers march through the streets of Disneyland Studios Park and there’s even a Jedi Burger – may the sauce be with you!

2. The Disney Illuminations – It’s time to Sparkle

To celebrate its 25th Birthday Disney has created an amazing new show full of fireworks, light projections and special effects. The show brings to life fan favourites such as Frozen, the new Beauty and The Beast, The Lion King, Micky Mouse and, of course, Star Wars, in somewhat of a tour through the ages. It would be worth the ticket price to see this show alone.

3. Waltz with Disney Princesses

A new show, performed on a glittering stage in front of the Castle, allowing guests to catch a glimpse of the Disney Princesses on stage with their Princes in tow too. Think magic, romance and pure Disney tradition all rolled into one.

4. Travel options

We travelled on Eurostar, which was convenient for us, from London St Pancreas straight into Marne La Vallee – just a 5 mins walk into the park or a shuttle ride to your hotel. The trains are comfortable and can be pre-booked for groups to sit together. Alternatively, the Eurotunnel and various ferry crossings, offer an easy route for those travelling to Disneyland Resort by coach. And Flybe offer flights from 9 different regional UK airports. Mickey Mouse is closer than you think!

5. There’s lots to do in the evening too

The Disney Village is home to lots of shops – that open late into the eve – there’s an IMAX cinema, the light show we have already mentioned and a great choice of restaurants – from Planet Hollywood and Five Guys to Vapiano’s and even fine dining on the park’s ‘Main Street’.

6. Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show

A firm favourite with our groups, this dinner and show experience has stunning shootouts and sensational stunts – all happening while you eat a hearty Texan-style meal. Great fun for kids and a unique dining experience with some tasty food.

7. Two Parks

There are not one but two theme parks at Disneyland Paris. There’s the one we all know – Disneyland Park – and there’s Walt Disneyland Studios Park, which is just as jam-packed with rides as its more famous partner and also plays host to daily Star Wars Storm Trooper marches.

8. Big Rides – Small Rides

From the tea cups and the Alice in Wonderland maze, all the way to Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones, The Hotel of Horrors and Hyperspace Mountain, there really is a ride for all ages.

9. Disney Stars on Parade

At 5.30pm each day the Disney Parade begins to dance, sing, clap and skip its way down Main Street. And for the park’s 25th anniversary the parade is complete with hundreds of new floats, costumes, songs and dances. The updated event gives Main Street a real party atmosphere – it really is not to be missed

10. Getting Around is Easy

Disney provides a free shuttle service to and from the train station, the nearby hotels and the parks themselves. And for those wanting a relaxed way to get around, there’s a monorail which runs the perimeter of Disneyland Park – and for extra style take a horse drawn cart ride along Main Street.
