Armistice Rugby Festival 2022
We are delighted to offer you the chance to take part in an International Rugby Festival which not only offers the chance to play against teams from across Europe but also to visit sites on both the Aisne & Somme to remember those former players who served in WW1.
This 4-day festival is organised and run by our friends at Francourt Events, who strongly believe in the values of combining team building, education, and sport which makes this event unique. Open to both clubs and schools, the festival has categories for Boys U15/16 & U17/18 (Rugby 15s) and Girls U15/16 & U17/18 (Rugby 7s).

Location
This tournament is being hosted by RCC Compiegne.
Compiegne is located in the Oise department in northern France, just 2.5 hours from the Port of Calais and Eurotunnel.
Dates
This year this Armistice Rugby Festival will take place 27-30 October 2022.
Next year the Festival will be held between 23–28 October 2023 to coincide with the Rugby World Cup which is being hosted by France.

Day 1
Morning
Your coach will collect you from your school or club early in the morning for the journey to the Channel port and your crossing to Calais.
Afternoon
For early arrivals their is a 2 hour training session available at RCC Compiegne
Evening
Evening welcome reception and dinner at RCC Compiegne for all participants and parents/supporters
Day 2
Morning
Depart for Compiegne Visit the Caverne du Dragon & World Rugby Memorial on the Chemin des Dames
Afternoon
Rugby Festival, Part 1 Festival Categories - Boys U15/16 & U17/18 Rugby 15’s - Girls U15/16 & U17/18 Rugby 7’s
Evening
Short Armistice Remembrance Ceremony at RCC Compiegne Club Memorial Evening meal at RCC Compiegne for all participants and parents/supporters

Morning
Depart Compiegne Option: Travel to the Somme. Visit Flatiron Copse Commonwealth War Graves Commissions; attend a short ceremony at the Welsh Memorial; attend a reception in the Mametz village hall, hosted by the Mayor of Mametz. This is free to attend. Places must be pre booked.
Afternoon
Option: Guided visit to Lochnagar Crater and Thiepval Memorial Depart for Calais and your crossing back to the UK
